The last week I’ve been a bit under the weather. And to top it all off, Mother Nature has decided to repeal all warmth and sunshine and let winter hang on a little longer. So, this article will be short and to the point because all I want to do is crawl back into bed.

Read a book.

That old favorite

Most of us probably have them, that one book that we can read over and over, enjoying the story each time a little more. I’ve got two copies of mine as it’s out of print. In fact, most of the books I love most are out of print, but I’m hoping that as more stories move to digital, I can snag a copy for my kindle as well.

Find a new favorite

This can be so hard to do. I went years at one point in my life struggling to find a story I didn’t want to chuck aside. I love science fiction, but always ended up with military strategy books instead of fantasy worlds. Then I’d hop to fantasy and find the same… army flanks and maneuvers as nations went to war. It was a struggle, and why I’ve found that novellas can be amazing. Sometimes all we want is a quick read to find some wonderful new worlds to live in.

So, if you’re feeling a bit under the weather today, or just want to give yourself a break from the world: read a book. Let something in your life sit a little longer, curl up with a comfy blanket, and soar off into another world.
