Let’s talk about Dragons. Because, why not? But first, here’s a little bit about who I am:
I’m a novel writer from the Pacific Northwest. Fantasy and Science-Fiction are my bread and butter. Wait… let me rephrase that. ADULT Fantasy and Science-Fiction are my woobie. While I’ve been known to read everything from tech articles to Jane Austin, my true passion is in dark, gritty stories exploring the boundaries of morality and the human psyche.
So, needless to say, I write adult books – sex, magic, swords & spaceships. My characters tend to be older, emotionally (and sometimes physically) tormented, with lives that they’ve already lived, and destroyed. These stories are about second chances, sometimes even third and fourth. Characters who once held happiness (or not) and were plunged into a darkness out of their control in a world that’s often a little morally ambiguous. It’s about the fight to regain their humanity and recover some small portion of themselves, but ultimately become smarter, stronger, and ideally change the world around them a little bit.
Okay… if I had to be honest, I do like romantic subplots in my stories. But if you give me two characters I’m rooting for all the way through the story, and you kill one off at the end (without bringing them back to life), I’m gonna glare at you really, REALLY hard through the internet.

Favorite Music: I can’t pick one… but I am a movie & game score (not soundtrack) junkie. Everything from Assassin’s Creed to Gladiator to Thomas Bergersen’s Sun. Just ask Pandora.

MY SUBMISSION
BLOOD & FIRE, ASH & BONE is a 3-POV Dragon Fantasy set in the lands of Arånor, a medieval world where most humans believe dragons are myth. Kinra is searching for her missing son. When her mission backfires, she becomes entangled in a war between brothers for control of the Western Throne. But, Kinra soon learns about the secret King Darian’s hiding, and to protect her son’s life she must give up the search and help Darian protect his city and his throne.
^Not a true pitch, I know. Just a teaser. 🙂 So, here’s some things about my story you might find interesting:
1. Every character in this story has their own agenda, right down to the maids. So, clashing personalities happens A LOT.
2. There are dozens of species (types) of dragons in the Arånor universe, my story reveals 3. One even has an exoskeleton.
3. A bond with a dragon produces magic. What type of magic depends on the species of dragon.
4. This isn’t a chosen one story. At least 5 characters (large and small) have a hero moment.
5. I am an evil author. I make people die in this story. Dragons too.
