One Lovely Blog Award

Today, I could barely keep my open come noon. I laid down for a quick (3-hour… oops ;)) power nap and woke up to a beautiful message from author Micaela Eagle that she’d nominated me for an award. You can check out her website here.

My first reaction: Really, someone reads my blog?

Okay, a few people do. Anywho… I first met Micaela during PitchWars 2016. I read her awesome mentee bio, followed her on Twitter, exchanged some pages here and there, and generally watched her Twitter wall fill up with Supernatural gifs. Ha ha… I’m serious. Proof. Oh yeah, and she’s a damn good writer too and sweet as they come. Follow her on Twitter. Check out her blog. And someday jump around your house when you have one of her awesome stories in your hands ready to read. 🙂

Alright, down to business. So what’s this award all about? I have no idea. I’ve attempted to source the origins of this blog award, but it appears to be a pay-it-forward type of award. And I’ve sadly slipped into the demographic today of checking out the top few search pages and moving on. Because… yep. I’m writing a book, too. Okay, what I’m actually doing is glaring at the state of emergency my tornadoed house is in. I digress…

Here’s the award:

And there are rules for having this award. Ahem…

  • When you get his award, thank the person who nominated you and link their blog.
  • Add the One Lovely Blog Award to your post.
  • Share 7 things about yourself that are not in your Bio.
  • Pass this on to as many people as you like (max 15).
  • Include this set of rules.
  • Inform your nominees.

And now for something completely different… 7 things about me you probably (guaranteed at this point) don’t know about me.

  1. This is my first blog award… ever. Thanks to Micaela! 🙂
  2. My very first official, paid job was at age 13.
  3. I learned to drive a stick-shift at age 11.
  4. I’ve been watching nature documentaries lately for world-building research.
  5. Learning about the Root Bridges of Cherrapunji is one of the raddest things I’ve found in my research.
  6. And… I used to skateboard in High School. Me and quarter pipes don’t get along. I lost… that is all.
  7. Oh yeah, and I can’t add. Had this page up for a few days and realized I’d only listed 6 things. I’m handing in my math genius card now.

And to round out this lovely blog post, a huge THANK YOU once more to Micaela. She’s added a fantastic milestone to my life, and I’ll be forever grateful for it. 🙂

Now… off to pass this award forward and nominate some other lovely people whose blogs are full of awesome. 🙂

Quarter pipes are evil. So are skateboards, the the former moreso.

Quarter pipes and ice skate blades will forever be the bane of my youth. ^_^

You totally deserve the award K.J. for many reasons! I’ll share two. First you always have something interesting to share and do so in a thrilling way that only you can via your unique voice as an author. Secondly, you are such a delight as far as personalities go! Congrats on your award K.J.!

Thank you, Lexi! You always know how to make my day. 🙂
